Got a fixture with a problem?

Rewires, custom fabrication, missing parts made from scratch. If it hangs from a ceiling and it doesn't work right, it's probably something I've fixed before.

Send photos first and I'll tell you honestly whether it's worth the work. Some fixtures aren't — I'd rather say so up front than take your money and hand back something that was never going to be right.

What I do

  • Full rewires — stripped down, cleaned, and rewired with wire chosen to suit the fixture. Original parts stay original; sockets and hardware get replaced only where they need it.
  • Custom fabrication — mounting plates, canopies, crossbars, and adapters machined when the original is missing or was never made.
  • Restoration — polished back to new, or left with its patina intact. That's a conversation, not a default.
  • Installation — hung, leveled, and wired in, locally.

How it works

  1. Send photos. The whole fixture, the canopy, and anything broken. Email them to theo@theoslamplab.com with a rough idea of what you want.
  2. I'll quote it. Scope and cost before anything moves. No surprises halfway through.
  3. Teardown and rewire. Completely disassembled, cleaned, and rebuilt. Every socket tested under load before it leaves.
  4. Back on your ceiling. Local jobs get installed and leveled. Everything else goes out in secure packaging.

A note on shipping fixtures to me

Freight on a large chandelier runs into the hundreds each way, which usually costs more than the repair itself. Restoration work is best kept local. If the piece is genuinely irreplaceable to you, email me and we'll talk it through honestly before you spend a dollar on shipping.

Safety

Old wiring fails quietly. Brown scorch marks around a socket, a burning smell, flickering that isn't the bulb, or insulation that flakes off the wire means the fixture should come down until it's rewired. If you're unsure, stop using it and ask.
