Vintage Brass Six-Light Chandelier — Fluted Glass Shades, Rewired
Six arms of polished brass, six fluted glass bell shades, and a full rewire top to bottom. A warm, traditional fixture for a dining room, entry, or stairwell — the kind of chandelier that reads formal without going ornate.
This one came in as solid brass work that had gone dull and dated. It has been taken apart completely, cleaned, rewired, and reassembled with every socket tested under load.
The shape is classic colonial revival: a central column with six curved arms sweeping up and out, each carrying a fluted glass bell shade. The brass has been brought back to a warm polish rather than a mirror finish, so it reads as an old fixture that has been cared for, not a reproduction.
What was done
- Completely disassembled and cleaned
- Rewired throughout with wire chosen to suit the fixture
- All six sockets tested under load
- Original brass components retained wherever sound
- Chain and canopy included, ready to hang
Bulbs
Takes six E12 candelabra bulbs. For this fixture I would run 2700K LEDs around 500–600 lumens each — warm enough to suit the brass, bright enough for a dining table. Bulbs not included.
Hanging it
The chain gives roughly 40 inches of total drop from canopy to the bottom loop. Chain links can be removed to shorten it for a standard eight-foot ceiling — a common adjustment and an easy one.
Shipping is included
$725 is the price. There is no shipping charge added at checkout and no surprise at the end — I handle the freight and it is already built into the number you see.
The fixture ships disassembled, with the glass wrapped separately and the chain and canopy packed on their own. It travels better that way. Reassembly is straightforward and I include notes on how it goes back together.
Local pickup in the Hudson Valley is available if you would rather collect it in person.
One of a kind
There is no second one in the back. When it sells, it is gone — but it stays up in the Restoration Archive so you can see what comes through the shop.
Not sure what bulbs to put in it?
The wattage rating on an old fixture is about heat, not brightness — and LEDs change the math entirely. Read the guide before you buy bulbs.
